Well, it's a person that "serves" and "protects" 5-Fold ministers (Apostles, Prophets, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Evangelists</span>, Pastors, and Teachers). Many ministers are <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">unfamiliar</span> with the armor-bearer role, or have chosen to neglect it as an ancient practice. The <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">notable</span> armor-bearer of ancient times was David, who began as Saul's <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">armor</span>-bearer, and later became King of Israel. The reason "5-Fold" was incorporated was to specify the role better. Many of the books that have been written on this topic (armor-bearer) imply that anyone qualify to be an armor-bearer - though <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">encouraging</span>, I believe different. To me that's like saying just because you are a police officer you qualify to be a SWAT member - NOT. According to David's qualifications, which positioned him to serve Saul, it took a person that new how to "serve" but also new how to "protect."
